LAHORE: Pakistan’s rising star Babar Azam has scored 2462 runs in his first 59 One Day Internationals, edging past Virat Kohli’s 2153 runs after 59 ODIs.
In 59 ODIs, Green shirt’s right-handed batsman Babar has scored eight centuries and five half-centuries whereas, Indian Skipper Virat Kohli scored five centuries and 15 half centuries.
The outstanding statistics of Babar Azam do not halt here. He also outshines Kohli on average as he has an ODI average of 51.3 after playing 59 games and Kohli had 43.9.
All these stats hint that Pakistan’s Babar is all set to take over the throne as world’s best batsmen in near future.
Although, many cricketing experts have claimed that it is too quick to judge Babar Azam as he is just at the start of his career whereas Virat Kohli is a veteran in sports who has proved to be a genuine world-class batsman for his side.
Even on the recent tour of South Africa, Babar proved to be the backbone of the batting line-up as he displayed prolific performances with the bat in tests, ODIs and T20Is.
