ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday accepted to hear on NAB’s plea seeking to cancel Shehbaz’s bail in cases pertaining to Ashiana Iqbal and Ramzan Sugar Mills and summoned Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president and Fawad Hassan Fawad.
As per details, a three-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Azmat Saeed is hearing on NAB’s plea against Shehbaz’s acquittal.
NAB’s prosecutor Naeem Bukhari has presented his arguments before the court.
Naeem Bukhari in his arguments said that the judges of LHC didn’t review all the aspects of the case and released Shehbaz expeditiously on bail.
“Shehbaz is the mastermind of Ashiana Housing Scandal,” said Naeem Bukhari.
“PML-N president called on the head of Punjab Land Development Company and directed to cancel the contract,” added Bukhari.
“LHC didn’t review all the legal aspect while giving bail which damaged the trial badly,” he further said.
“As much as nine decisions were taken on the directions of Shehbaz in Ashiana Scheme, eight of them were to empower Fawad,” he further said.
“Fawad is facing probe in assets case and another accused of the case Ahad Cheema is in jail then why Shehbaz and Fawad have been released on bail,” he asserted.
“Two more suspects became approvers in the case and two have managed to flee from the country,” concluded Bukhari.
It is pertinent to mention here that the anti-graft watchdog filed a petition seeking to cancel Shehbaz’s bail in cases pertaining to Ramzan Sugar Mills and Ashiana Iqbal Housing Scandal.
The anti-graft body requested the SC to cancel the bail granted to opposition leader in National Assembly by the Lahore High Court (LHC).
