Bajwa Expresses Dissatisfaction Over Initial Results of Census

Islamabad (September 11, 2017): The Chief of Census and advisor of Bureau of Statistics Asif Bajwa admitted that he was not satisfied with the initial results of census regarding eunuchs and disabled.

Addressing to a press conference, he sets aside impression about the discrimination between rural and urban areas and clarified that limitation of rural or urban areas rest upon the provincial government and it has nothing to do with bureau.

He mentioned that bureau has scrutinized more than 12000 performa gathered from field and found some shortcomings in data regarding eunuchs and handicapped.

“Rs 17 billion have been spent on census and all the objections raised by the Sindh will be removed soon,” he said adding that bureau has sent teams to three provinces to review the data process, however Punjab showed confidence over the process.

He turned down the data moving on social media regarding the numbers of people of various tribes and said data has not finalized in this connection.

It is worth mentioning that two major parties of Sindh MQM and PPP has raised the objections over the credibility of the census.
