Mali: Armed men attack Raddison hotel in capital Bamako, 23 dead

Armed men attacked Raddison hotel in Mali’s capital city of Bamako and the shootout killed 23 people including a French citizen.

The terrorists attacked the five start hotel and took aroud 300 people hostage. The American troops arrived to extend help to local forces and begun an operation to free the hostages and succeeded to get over 80 of them released. Attempts are on to get around 170 people including 30 workers of the hotel  held hostage are underway.

According to American TV special contigents of French army are also being sent. Spokesman of U.S. State Department John Kirby has said that American citizens could be among the hostages held by the terrorists. Important personnel of the UN and other foreigners were also staying at the hotel.
