NEW YORK: United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon offered to mediate between Pakistan and India so as to de-escalate the prevailing tension between the two nuclear powers.
Pakistan’s permanent representative to the UN Maleeha Lodhi called on Ban Ki-moon and drew his attention toward Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. She told Ki-moon that Indian claim about surgical strike based on lie.
Maleeha Lodhi said that India wanted to escalate tension on LoC so as to divert world’s attention from atrocities in Occupied Kashmir. She said India will be given befitting response, if it make any aggression. Lodhi said Indian put regional and international peace at risk.
Ban Ki-moon expressed concerns over rising tension between Pakistan and India. He emphasized Pakistan and India to resolve the issues by patience and through dialogues.
