LAHORE: The Lahore High Court has issued notice and sought reply from Federal and Punjab government over petition filed against ban on film Malik in Pakistani cinemas.
Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard petition of citizen Abdullah Malik, who adopted stance that Federal government has no right of imposing ban on any film in province under 18th amendment. Malik film highlighted social evils and corruption, while Punjab censor board has issued permit for film in cinemas, but despite the film is banned in cinemas of Punjab. The petitioner requested the court to order removal of ban on film Maalik. The case hearing was adjourned till second week of July.
