ISLAMABAD: A local court handed over Raja Arshad, the main accused in Barrister Fahad Malik murder case, to police on physical remand for three more days. The court also rejected the plea of the defence counsel for grant of time to meet his client.
As per detail, police produced Raja Arshad, accused in murder case of former Chairman Senate Muhamad Mian Soomro’s nephew Fahad Malik murder case, in the court of duty judge Abdul Ghafoor Kaker when the three-day physical remand ended.
During the hearing, police told the court that during investigation police recovered the Kalashnikov used in the murder and his mobile phone from the accused. However, the court was told that the car used in the crime could not be recovered as yet. Upon this, the court directed the accused counsel to make sure the recovery of the vehicle.
Police requested the court to extend the physical remand of the accused as they need to further interrogate the accused. The court while accepting the prosecution plea handed over the accused to police on a further three-day physical remand. Howver, the defense counsel plea to grant time to meet his client was rejcted by the court.
The court directed police to produce the accused in the trial court after competition of the remand. It is to be mentioned here that the other accused in the case, Numan Khokhar, is in the prision on 14-day judicial remand.
