London (July 12, 2018): Wife of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Begum Kulsoom Nawaz has opened her eyes after a month-long coma.
Talking to media in outside Harley Street Clinic, Hussain Nawaz confirmed on Thursday that her mother she looked around after opening her eyes.

“After exactly one-month, she [my mother] has opened her eyes. She looked around after opening her eyes,”.
“For some time her ventilator settings and sedatives were being reduced,” he added.
“First time in 30 days, Ami opened eyes for a few seconds. Don’t know if she saw or registered us. Still not conscious and on ventilator. Prayers solicited,” tweeted daughter Maryam Nawaz.
Kulsoom Nawaz had been unconscious and in critical condition after she suffered a cardiac arrest last month. She is being treated at the Harley Street Clinic in London.
In August 2017, Kulsoom Nawaz was diagnosed with lymphoma (throat) cancer and has undergone several chemotherapy sessions.
Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz have been in London prior to Eid-ul-Fitr and are expected to return to Pakistan tomorrow. Nawaz and Maryam will be arrested upon arrival in Pakistan following their sentencing in the Avenfield Reference case.
Earlier on Wednesday, while addressing party convention in London, the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif reiterated his stance over his return to Pakistan and said that prisons or execution could not stop his feet for the struggle of honuor to vote. He said that he would not stop now whether he was taken to prison or gallows.
“I am going to Pakistan as my country is in hot waters. I am going there to fulfill the promise of honour for vote,” he said .

“These people have not given a prison sentence to my daughter, they have given the sentence to every daughter of this nation,” he said, amidst chants of “Wazir-i-azam [prime minister] Nawaz Sharif!”
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said that he was returning to the country leaving his wife Kulsoom in Allah’s protection.
The former premier said that he wished to see his wife opening her eyes again, requesting the nation to pray for her recovery.
