ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Chairman on Sunday said that the merging of HIV and AIDs is creating a stigma among the ‘most vulnerable’ countrymen, adding that he stands by all those who have contracted the fatal disease.
In a tweet, the PPP chairman expressed solidarity with the people who have tested positive for HIV in recent times across the country.
“HIV is not a death sentence. The conflation of HIV & AIDS is fueling stigmatization of the most vulnerable people in Pakistan. This can not & should not be tolerated. I stand by my fellow Pakistanis who have contracted HIV, be they in Ratodero, Swabi, Sargodha or Turbat”, Bilawal tweeted.

He affirmed that the HIV-hit province will enact prosperous legislations to ‘protect the most vulnerable’.
“From the Sindh HIV and AIDS Control and Prevention Bill 2013 to the free distribution of contraceptives Sindh has & will continue to pass & enact the most progressive legislation & programs to protect the most vulnerable”, the PPP chairman added.
