Bilawal rubbishes minus-one calls, terms Altaf political reality

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Friday dismissed much-talked minus-one formula, saying that in politics the formula has been outdated.

Talking to media after a meeting with Maulana Fazlur Rehman at his residence, Bilawal while responding a question regarding minus-one said that the minus-one formula had been in practice in politics, adding that his grandfather, his maternal uncles and even his mother were minused.

In an indirect reference to PTI chairman Imran Khan, who had a day earlier called upon Bilawal Bhutto to minus his father Asif Zardari from PPP if he wanted to reorganize the party, said that the minus-one formula had been outdated.  Rubbishing the PTI chief call, he said that tomorrow he will be calling for misusing Bilawal Bhutto.

He clarified that he did not declare MQM founder Altaf Hussain and Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif as traitor. He said he had opined earlier that Altaf Hussain was a political reality of Karachi and he he still so.

Bilawal said that he can not even think of declaring an elected prime minister as traitor.

Regarding Fazlur Rehman, who was present on the occasion, the PPP chairman said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman was his elder and he had supported PPP on 18th amendments and other issues. Bilawal said that it was an honour for him that Fazlur Rehman had worked with his maternal grandfather and father.

He said that Kashmir was a national issue and PPP played a role to unite the nation on Kashmir issue.

On the occasion he requested JUI-F chief to convince Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for passage of Opposition’s moved Panama Inquiry Bill from the Parliament.

He flayed the government for harming the national unity on Kashmir issue during joint sitting. “What happened during the joint sitting on Thursday should have not happened,” he remarked .
