Bilawal Expresses Regrets over Gulalai Attacked for Raising Voice

CHITRAL: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has said that the way Ayesha Gulalai has been attacked for raising her voice is extremely regretful.

“If we want women of the country to progress, we should not malign them for raising their concerns,” Bilawal said during his visit.

He further said that those making rounds should not be hurled upon women — their families — who come forward, adding that impartial probe should be conducted in the allegations, without involving politics.

While talking about the parliamentary committee formed to probe allegations levelled against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairperson Imran Khan and PTI Spokesperson Naeem-ul-Haq, Bilawal said he did not know much about the panel. However, he added, there is a law on sexual harassment that suggests such committees.

Talking over Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s trip to Lahore via GT Road, Bilawal said he thought it to be a farewell tour. “It is his right and should be left to do so and since he has the state apparatus within his control, he can properly arrange such a tour.”

About accountability, the PPP chairperson said laws should be made through the Parliament that assure everyone is questioned when need be. “No one should be immune from accountability be it lawmakers or people from other sections the society.”
