Bilawal Rejects PTI Report on RTS Failure During Polls

Islamabad (August 28, 2018): Hours after NADRA chairman statement Result Transmission System (RTS) never shut down or malware, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari rejected the report on the failure of the Result Transmission System (RTS) by PTI’s fact-finding committee. 

“We cannot accept a report prepared by PTI’s own ‘fact-finding’ committee because PTI itself benefitted the most from RTS crash.”

The PPP chief reiterated his demand that a joint parliamentary committee is formed to conduct a thorough investigation into the discrepancies in the election process including RTS failure.”Chairman Bilawal Bhutto once again asked the Prime Minister to order an immediate inquiry into the deaths of those martyred in terrorist attacks during the election campaign and on the day of the general elections. “We condemn terrorist attacks, pay tributes to martyrs but this is mere lip-service if there is no serious effort to catch their killers. What is the use of these tributes and condolence messages if the perpetrators of these heinous crimes roam around freely? “Time has come for the government to provide answers and justice to the families of the victims”.

Earlier, Chairman NADRA Usman Mubeen said that RTS was working fine on the election day, reports of its failure are not right.RTS Was Working Fine, Chairman NADRA Briefs PMChairman NADRA while briefing Prime Minister Imran Khan at Prime Minister House today said RTS was not overburdened and was working properly, he can prove with evidence.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned another meeting after the motive of the NADRA Chairman and asked him to be present along with the relevant documents.

On August 27, the PPP Senator and chairman Senate committee for interior Rehman Malik claimed in his report that the Result Transmission System was not collapsed but shut down intentionally.The chairman Senate committee for Interior Rehman Malik, who was tasked to investigate the failure of RTS on the election day, has submitted its report in the upper house, saying that the system was not failed but shutdown and the form 45 were also not given to the polling agents on various polling stations.
