ISLAMABAD: The Parliament of Pakistan is expected today to give a go-ahead to the draft of constitutional amendment unanimously laid out by the political leaders in order to provide constitutional cover to the military-led speedy trial courts (STCs) in terrorism-related cases, on Saturday.
The National Assembly will have its unusual session today when draft of a 21st constitutional amendment regarding the National Action Plan will be tabled for the establishment of special courts manned by military officers. It should be mentioned here that the without a permission of federal government military courts will not observe any case.
Abbtakk News has received a copy of draft bill, to be presented in the National Assembly on Saturday.
The bill has been named as 21st Amendment and will be enforced soon after its approval from the parliament.
The amendment bill states that Army Act 1952, Pakistan Navy Ordinance 1961, Pakistan Air Force 1953 would also be amended.
Modifications will be introduced in Protection of Pakistan Act 2014, it said and added that no one will be trialed without the consent of the federal government.
The amendment endorsed by the APC will be known as the 21st Amendment. It will be tabled in the National Assembly on Saturday and in Senate on Tuesday.
