Web Desk (July 19, 2017): The 90th birth anniversary of legendary singer Mehdi Hassan was observed on Tuesday.
Mehdi Hassan was given the opportunity to sing on Radio Pakistan, primarily as a thumri singer, which earned him recognition within the musical fraternity.
He earned fame as ghazal and playback singer. “Gulon mein rang bharay,baad-e-naubahar chale” gave him a major breakthrough in his professional career.
He was recipient of many awards including Nigar, Hilal-e-Imtiaz, Nishan-e-Imtiaz and Pride of Performance.
