New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) on Wednesday banned BJP candidate Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur from campaigning for 3 days over her controversial remarks.
The BJP candidate in her remarks maintained that she is proud of the Babri Masjid demolition. These remarks were found volatile of the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).
The EC panel ‘strongly condemned’ the remarks and warned the BJP candidate to ‘not repeat the misconduct in future’.
The ban will be implemented at 6 am on Thursday and will be lifted on Sunday.
