Bollywood Celebrities Speak About Homosexuality

Web Desk (September 07, 2018): Bollywood personalities has commended the Indian Supreme Court for announcing historical judgement of decriminalising homosexuality in the country.

Bollywood personalities took to social media to applaud this verdict of Supreme Court.

Bollywood’s renowned director, filmmaker Karan Johar expressed his pride on the judgement, and wrote that it is an historical judgment! So proud today! Decriminalising homosexuality and abolishing #Section377 is a huge thumbs up for humanity and equal rights.

Mr. Perfectionist, Aamir Khan said that it is a historic day for people who believe in equal rights for all. The judiciary has done it’s duty, and now we must do ours.

Bollywood beauty Alia Bhatt shared a picture on her Twitter handle and captioned it as such a momentous day in the history of our country.

Actress Anushka Sharma also favoured the judgement of Supreme Court and said that its a huge step forward today for love and the right to love.

 Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor Ahuja said that this is the India I want to live in. Not one filled with hate, bigotry,sexism homophobia and intolerance. THIS is the India I love.

Yesterday, India’s Supreme Court legalised consensual sexual relations between adults of the same gender as it partially struck down a British-era law that criminalised homosexuality.

A five-judge Constitution bench of the Indian Supreme Court delivered its unanimous verdict in four separate opinions.

Chief justice Dipak Misra said that as he quashed the cornerstone of Section 377, the law had become a weapon for harassment for the LGBT community. Any discrimination on the basis of sexuality amounts to a violation of fundamental rights.
