Brathwaite Ton In Vain As NZ Win By 5 Runs

MANCHESTER: Blackcaps were able to contain blustering West Indies side to 286 runs after a nail-biting contest at the Old Trafford to win the match by 5 runs.

Chasing the target Windies lost two early wickets but then big man Chris Gayle and Shimron Hetmyer put on the track the team, both scored 87 and53 runs respectively.

The highlight of the match was the fight back and never say die attitude of the Carlos Brathwaite who scored a thunderous century but could not able to hold his nerve and got out on the edge of the border at 101 individual score.

Earlier, batting first New Zealand made 291 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 50  overs after they were put into bat by West Indies captain Jason Holder, who won the toss in the 29th match of the ICC World Cup.
