Breaking: 30 Dead, More Than 100 Injured in Parachinar Twin Blasts

Parachinar (June 23, 2017): At least 30 person were killed and more than 100 injured in Twin blasts in Karman Ada,  Parachinar,  said political agent. 

According to the details, at least 30 people are dead and over 100 injured as two subsequent explosions hit a densely populated part of Kurram Agency’s Parachinar area on Friday.

The explosions were reported to have occurred near Karman Adda, where a market and bus terminal are located. People traveling out of the city ahead of Eid ul Fitr were said to have been mostly affected by the twin bombings. The second explosion took place as rescuers and bystanders rushed to aid those who had been hurt in the first explosion.

The security forces have cordoned off the area while emergency has been imposed in all hospitals. Rescue team have reached on the crime scene and started rescue work.

Injured are being shifted to agency headquarter hospital, while dead bodies have been shifted to main Parachinar Imam Bargah.Parachinar has been under strict security arrangements for quite some time. Personnel of army and paramilitary Levies have set up checkpoints on all routes leading to the town and visitors and vehicles go through extensive search and identification process.

Rescue efforts underway

The Army has dispatched two helicopters from Peshawar to evacuate the injured to Peshawar, said a statement released from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The military’s media wing added that the “rescue operation is in progress”.

Pakistan Army contingents and FC personnel also reached the site of the attack to aid in the rescue efforts.

Officials said emergency had been imposed in all hospitals across Parachinar, the capital of Kurram agency.

Rescue services reached the spot of the explosions and started shifting the wounded to hospitals.

A cordon was placed around the site of the attack and a search operation has been initiated in the area after the bombings.

Earlier in March, at least 24 people were killed and more than 90 injured in a bombing outside an imam bargah located in a busy Parachinar market.

Earlier in the day, at least 11 people were killed and 12 other injured when a powerful blast went off near IG Office at Shuhada Chowk in Quetta.

As per details, a bomb went off at Shuhada Chowk in front of IG Office on Gulistan Road in the provincial metropolis.

The blast was so powerful the bang was heard far from the blast site. The blast damaged nearby buildings. Two vehicle were also damaged in the blast.

Security sources said that a vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast. As a body was also found inside the vehicle, they suspect it might be a suicide car blast.

Rescue sources said that 11 people were killed in the blast and several other injured. The victims include five policemen and a minor girl.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta.

Soon after the blast security forces personnel rushed to the site and cordoned off the area. Rescue workers also rushed to the blast site and started shitting the injured to nearby hospitals.

Soon after the blast, emergency was declared at Civil Hospital. Security at and outside the hospital was also beefed up.

A doctor at Emergency Department of Civil Hospital Quetta Rozina told Abb Takk that several injured were brought to Civil Hospital, where they were being given treatment.

She said that condition of many of the injured was critical. She apprehended that the death toll of the blast many go up.
