BAP Leader Siraj Raisani Among 197 Martyred In Mastung Blast

Mastung (July 13, 2018): At least 197 people including Nawabzada Siraj Raisani, a younger brother of former Balochistan chief minister Aslam Raisani are martyred in a blast in Mastung.

According to the details, 197 people have lost their lives including Nawabzada Siraj Raisani in an explosion hit an election gathering in Darengarh area of Mastung.

The militant Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attack through its Aamaq news agency.

More than 150 people were injured in the blast, who were shifted to nearby hospitals. It is one of the biggest terror incidents of the year.

Raisani is a candidate of the recently-formed Balochistan Awami Party from PB-35 constituency and also the younger brother of former Balochistan chief minister Nawab Aslam Raisani.

In July 2011, Raisani lost his 14-year-old son in a terrorist attack in Mastung, in which several others, including security personnel, were killed.Earlier today, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl’s leader Akram Khan Durrani’s convoy was attacked in Bannu, resulting in the deaths of four people and injuries to around a dozen others.

According to the details, the convoy was attacked with a bomb, when it was heading for an election campaign in the area, Akram Durrani is safe.

Akram Durrani is contesting elections from NA-35 from the platform of Muthaida Majlis-e-Amal(MMA).

Security forces have reached the crime scene and cordoned off the area.Durrani has served as Minister for Housing and Works in the cabinet of former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi from August 2017 to May 2018.

Last night, two people had been injured in a blast near BAP’s election office in Khuzdar.

On July 10, a suicide blast had killed Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour and 19 others in Peshawar’s Yaktoot area. The attack was claimed by the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which had also claimed responsibility for 2012 attack that killed Haroon’s father, Bashir Bilour.

On July 7, at least seven people, including a candidate of Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), were injured when a convoy came under a bomb attack in Bannu.

Earlier this month, an attack on a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) candidate’s office in North Waziristan’s Razmak tehsil had injured 10.
