LAHORE: Provincial Minister for trade and industry Punjab, Mian Aslam Iqbal said that business community should play their role in the development of the country instead of becoming a tool in the hands of the political parties.
Talking to media in Lahore, Provincial Minister for trade and industry Punjab, Mian Aslam Iqbal said that the government accepted all the demands of the business community despite that the strike is a question mark on the traders? he said “the group who observed the shutter down not pay their taxes” adding that action will be taken against those who will not pay the taxes now.
The Provincial Minister ensured the business community to provide them conducive environment for the business and vowed that the business community will be brought under the tax net at all cost.
The Minister said that some elements are creating chaos for their personal gains while he clarified that the government didn’t impose any tax on the small shopkeepers.
Earlier, a delegation of Chinese investors called on the minister wherein they deliberated upon the establishment of a new industrial zone and promotion of investment in the province.
The Chinese delegation at the occasion announced an investment of one billion dollars and the reinvestment of five billion dollars in the province.
