Cabinet Assures All Possible Help For Afghan Refugees Return

Islamabad (February 20, 2018): The Federal Cabinet has decided to provide all possible facilities to those Afghan refugees who want to return voluntarily to their own country.

The decision was made during a cabinet meeting held in Islamabad on Tuesday with Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in the chair.

The meeting reviewed the repatriation of Afghan refugees and different recommendations were made in this regard.

The meeting demanded the international community to play its due role in repatriation of Afghan refugees to their own homeland.

The cabinet also validated the decisions taken by Cabinet Committee on Energy and Economic Coordination and  rejected the increase in power tariff proposed by NEPRA and decided to maintain the current tariff rate.

Prime Minister has also directed to make new Islamabad international airport operational by mid-April this year.The Prime Minister directed to complete all the development projects within the stipulated time.

He also approved 110 kilometer long Khuzdar-Basima road project.

He said that new road projects being completed across the country will bring a big positive change in people’s lives.

Chairman National Highway Authority briefed the meeting that 28 major communication projects have been completed since 2013.

It was also told that basic infrastructure of Airport Metro Bus project will be completed by 15 May of this year.
