Redding (July 31, 2018): The twin fires in Mendocino and Lake counties flared up late on Sunday, forcing 15,000 people to flee from two northern California wildfires, from the 4,700 resident town of Lakeport and other communities near Clear Lake, about 120 miles north of San Francisco.
According to details, the blazes have destroyed six homes and threaten 10,000 others. The flames have blackened 87 square miles till now.According to international news agency, Corey Paulich, Lake County Sheriff’s Lieutenant, put the number of people under evacuation orders at 14,000, up from a previous estimate of 10,000. Another 1,000 people have been displaced in neighboring Mendocino County.
Previously, a fast-growing northern California wildfire killed two firefighters on Friday after high winds drove it into the city of Redding. It prompted mass evacuations, destroying scores of homes and threatening some 5,000 other dwellings and businesses.
