Calling National Team A Street Cricket is Grievable: Sarfaraz

Karachi (February 1, 2018): Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Sarfaraz Ahmed expressed sadness on calling the team as street cricket team by Seniors.

Sarfaraz added that “any of the players can be dropped from the team for any reason but it doesn’t mean that Pakistan’s National cricket team is a street cricketing team.”

After returning from the New Zealand tour, Sarfaraz in an interview with a newspaper said that “he respect all the seniors but remarks like that are grievable.”

He said that “Muhammad Hafeez was dropped to give him a bit time to rest, he is one of the key player of the team. Dropping any of the player doesn’t mean that this is the team of his community or street.”“Pakistan struggled in New Zealand because of entirely different conditions, fitness issues are increasing due to continuously playing cricket, players were tired,” Sarfaraz said.

Captain said that “Fast Bowlers play all formats of cricket and league cricket outside the country as well which is the reason behind injuries of the players, this is the side where some attention is needed”.
