Car Lifting: Facilitators Handed to Police on Physical Remand

Karachi (November 6, 2017): An anti-terrorism court (ATC) has handed over two terrorists’ facilitators, who were arrested when a huge car lifting group busted on Saturday by rangers and police, to police on four-day physical remand on Monday.

On Saturday Rangers and Sindh Police had busted a group involved in car lifting, which were being used in criminal activities across Pakistan and recovered 51 stolen cars.According to details court was told by investigative officer that the accused- Sheraz and Muneeb Siddiqui- were halted at Nazimabad Mujahid Colony during joint Rangers and police snap checking, however accused fired on police and tried to fled away. The accuses were arrested after brief chased.Rangers’ lawyer told court that accused were involved in sale of luxurious cars after taking on rent, they were involved in making fraud on the cover of CPEC and also indulged facilitating terrorists.

He further informed the court that 49 luxurious vehicles were recovered from their possession.

On Saturday, Sector Commander Sachal Rangers Brigadier Naseem while addressing a press conference said that  Rangers and Sindh Police had initially nabbed two suspects in a joint operation in Nazimabad, who were found in possession of illegal weapons and a stolen car.“Unprecedented revelations followed after further investigation, which showed the two were part of a inter-provincial cars lifter group involved in selling and using stolen cars in different parts of Pakistan.

He said that in the biggest car recovery operation in the country’s history, 51 cars were recovered and returned to their owners. Most of the cars were various models of Toyota, he added.
