Islamabad (July 07, 2018): Caretaker Information Minister Syed Ali Zafar says the government will implement the court’s decision regarding the case of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
According to details, he said in a statement that legal process in the case would be followed from Monday and government would also implement orders of the court regarding confiscation of property of the convict.
Ali Zafar said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz would be brought back to Pakistan with the help of British government. However, he said Pakistan does not have extradition treaty with Britain.He said Nawaz Sharif has the right to file an appeal against the court decision but government will implement the court’s decision regarding the case of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
Caretaker Information Minister said NAB is a constitutional institution and we cannot interfere in its affairs, to a question about Capt (Retd) Muhammad Safdar, he said NAB is taking action to arrest him.

Yesterday, Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif was sentenced to 10 years in prison, while his daughter Maryam was sentenced to seven years in the Avenfield properties reference. Nawaz’s son-in-law Capt (retd) Safdar was given a one year sentence.
Moreover, Nawaz was fined £8 million and Maryam £2 million by accountability Court-I Judge Mohammad Bashir, who announced the sentence today after several delays since morning.
Following the verdict, Maryam and Safdar have been barred from contesting the July general election.
