ُPeshawar (July 12, 2018): The caretaker Prime Minister Justice (R) Nasir-ul-Mulk has directed for enhancing security of all political leaders.
He issued this directive during a meeting with Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Caretaker Chief Minister Dost Muhammad Khan in Peshawar this afternoon (Thursday).
The Prime Minister expressed sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the recent suicide attack in Peshawar.
The Governor and Chief Minister briefed him about the steps taken for maintaining peaceful atmosphere in the province.
The Caretaker Interior Minister Azam Khan was also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Caretaker PM, Nasirul Mulk and Chief of the Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday reached Bilour house to offer condolence with the bereaved family of Haroon Bilour.
The suicide attack in Yakatoot locality of the city also claimed the life of ANP leader Haroon Bilour, who was contesting the upcoming general election from PK-78 constituency of Peshawar.

Director General ISPR, Major General Asif Ghafoor, Corps Commander Lt, General Nazir Butt were also present on the occasion.
On the other hand, the death toll in the attack has jumped to 22 after two more injured succumbed to their wounds on Thursday.

Earlier on, the slain Awami National Party (ANP) leader Haroon Bilour was laid to rest on Wednesday in Peshawar amid the scenes of mourn and tears rolling on the cheeks of supporters.
The people including party workers and related to all walks of life attended the funeral prayers of the slain leader.
ANP To Continue Campaigning For General Elections: Asfandyar
Earlier on Wednesday, Chief of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan said that the party will continue to campaign for the upcoming General Election 2018.
Talking to media in Peshawar, he shared that the party will resume campaigning after a three-day peaceful protest. The party’s main focus is to become victorious in the elections, he said, adding “We have to contest elections and win now.”

Regarding the suicide attack, he said: “these are terrorists we are dealing with. You can’t compare umpires with terrorists. The main problem is that they [Taliban] know who all of us are but we don’t know about them.”
Instead of attacking us from the back, our rivals should go head-to-head against us, he shared.
