Islamabad(July 15, 2018): Caretaker Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk on Sunday reached Quetta to show solidarity with the Mastung Blast victims.
Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk visited CMH to inquire about victims of the blast and later also offered condolence with the bereaved family of Nawabzada Siraj Raisani.
Nasirul Mulk will also chair a high-level meeting to review law and order situation during his visit of Quetta at the Governor House.
Nation Observing Day of Mourning Today:
Pakistan is observing a day of mourning today (Sunday) to pay tributes to the martyrs of recent terrorist attacks in Mastung and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The announcement to this effect was made by Prime Minister Nasirul Mulk in Islamabad on Saturday with the aim to also express grief and solidarity with the victim families. The prime minister office has also directed the interior ministry to formally issue a notification in this regard. The national flag will fly at half-mast on the occasion.The announcement was made a day after a suicide blast killed 131 people at a political rally in the town of Mastung, near the Balochistan provincial capital Quetta.
The deadliest attack was the latest in a series of bombings targeting campaign events in the last week, sparking fears of more violence ahead of nationwide polls on July 25
Secretary-General of UN Condemns Mastung Blast:
Secretary-General of the United Nations has strongly condemned the heinous and cowardly terrorist attack in Mastung in which 128 people lost their lives and two hundred injured.
In a statement, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres expressed deepest sympathy and condolences to the families of the victims and Pakistan and wished a speedy and full recovery to those who were injured. The United Nations Security Council has also strongly condemned the “heinous” terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
It reaffirmed that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations constitutes one of the most serious threats to international peace and security.
The Security Council underlined the need to bring perpetrators, organizers and sponsors of these reprehensible acts of terrorism to justice.
Pakistan Lost Highly Devoted, Precious Siraj Raisani: COAS
Army chief Gen Qamar Javed Bajawa condemned the heinous terrorist attack in Mastung which killed at least 128 people including Siraj Raisani, the candidate from PB-32, and more than 150 others injured.
General Bajwa expressed grief on the loss of precious lives and said that Pakistan has lost highly devoted & capable politician Siraj Raisani, said DG ISPR in a tweet.
