KARACHI: Union Council (UC) chairman of Cattle Colony Rahim Shah, Deputy Superintendent Police (DSP) Shah Latif Town and Station House Officer (SHO) was nominated in a case has been filed against cold-blood shooting of Irshad Ranjhani.
The case was filed over orders of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari after strong protests of the relatives organised a day ago.
Earlier on Monday, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East said that UC chairman Rahim Shah was arrested while it was emerged as a snatching incident after reviewing all evidences by the investigation team. The police officer said that Shah was arrested over stopping people to shift slain Ranjhani to the hospital.
DIG East added that statements of eyewitnesses were recorded in the case including ambulance driver while duty officer was also found making delay to shift Ranjhani. He said that all statements will be presented before court.
Irshad Ranjhani was killed by UC chairman Rahim Shah declaring him dacoit on February 6.
