ISLAMABAD: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (r) Javed Iqbal on Monday ensured that the cases of corruption will not proceed years and will bring them to their logical end as soon as possible.
said that corruption is the root cause all evils and every possible step will be taken to eradicate this evil.
“The mega corruption cases were taken to logical end according to law,” the anti-graft watchdog chairman said while chairing executive board meeting at NAB headquarters.
“I directed the Bureau’s officials to take 179 mega corruption cases to logical end soon after taking office,” he said and added out of 179, 105 corruption references have been filed in the concerned courts.
Justice (r) Javed Iqbal said that inquiries were underway in 15 cases and 18 cases were in the investigation phase, while 41 cases have been taken to a logical end, adding that the anti-graft agency’s action against corruption without any discrimination was producing results.
The NAB chairman also directed the officials to respect the dignity of those who appear before the team for investigation.
He mentioned that unbiased accountability has yielding positive results and the survey of Gillani and Gallop is the proof of people trust in NAB as 59 per cent Pakistanis showed their confidence in anti-graft watchdog.
