CEC Didn’t Have Authority To Refuse Administering Oath From ECP Members: Firdous

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Special Assistant (PMSA) on information and broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Chief Election Commissioner didn’t have authority to refuse administering oath from the ECP members.

The PMSA Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan responded on action taken by Chief Election Commissioner Sardar Raza on yesterday by not administering oath from the new designated ECP members from Sindh and Baluchistan on social media site twitter.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the government designated the two members of the ECP as per the procedure written in the constitution adding that as per the constitution Chief Election Commissioner didn’t have any authority to refuse administering oath from the ECP members.

She said that the designated duo thought to be expert on law and honest person.
