Cellular Services Suspended In Few Cities Today

Karachi (November 21, 2018): Mobile phone services in different parts of the country such as Faisalabad, Sargodha and Shorkot will remain suspended today on the account of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).

Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) is being celebrated with great religious zeal and fervour across the country today.

Therefore, mobile phone service will remain suspended across Faisalabad, Sargodha and Shorkot today. According to secretary Sindh home department, cellular services in Saddar, Korangi, Malir and New Karachi will remain suspended to avoid any untoward incident in the city.

Earlier on November 16, Sindh Government revised the previous ban on pillion riding and issued a fresh notification in this regard.

The revised ban on pillion riding came in effect from 10th Rabi-ul-Awaal and will remain till 13th Rabi-ul-Awal in entire Sindh to avoid any untoward incident on Eid Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH).

A fresh notification in this regard was issued by Home Department Sindh on 16th November Friday. According to the new notification, use of Loud Speakers, carrying/processing of provocative audio/video cassettes/material, provocative speeches and inciting sectarian hatred besides carrying/display of arm and weapons have also been banned for four days during 10th to 13th Rabi-ul-Awwal across the province.

The provincial government under section 144 also placed a ban on all kind of gatherings except Milad-ul-Nabi (PBUH) and Chup Tazia processions during the said period.
