ISLAMABAD: Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain met Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to gave him Prime Minister Imran Khan’s message regarding Azadi March.
According to the details, Chaudhry brothers again arrived at the residence of Maulana Fazlur Rehman in Islamabad and hold negotiation to resolve all outstanding issues through dialogue.
Talking to media persons after the meeting, Chaudhry Pervez Illahi hoped that matter will be resolved peacefully.
Matters of mutual interest, Azadi March, end of sit-in, JUI-F’s demands and other issues came under discussion in the meeting.
On the occasion, the JUI-F chief praised the Chaudhry brothers’ role in defusing the prevailing political tension in the country.
The Maulana asked Chaudhry brothers to understand the opposition’s stance. “We never denied from holding talks,” he said, adding: “I only believe in meaningful negotiations.”
“Our basic demands should be implemented after which other issues could come under discussion,” Fazl said.
“Imran Khan should immediately resign from as prime minister and announce fresh elections,” the JUI-F chief said, adding: “Imran Khan is not great man like Bhutto. If [Zulfiqar Ali] Bhutto had agreed to hold a new election than what’s wrong with Imran.”
