China-UK Ties Not to Change Despite Brexit: Li

Beijing (January 31, 2018): Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said at joint press conference with Theresa May that China-UK relations will not change despite Brexit.

British and Chinese representatives have discussed several of issues including the DPRK, global situations, trade cooperation and investment.

Li said China, and the UK committed to upholding free trade and economic globalization, further enhancing bilateral relations in Gold Era.

Earlier, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang held a welcome ceremony for visiting British Prime Minister Theresa May at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Wednesday afternoon.

May, accompanied by a large business delegation, arrived in Wuhan, central China’s Hubei Province, on Wednesday morning.

During the three-day visit, she will co-host the annual bilateral prime ministerial meeting with her Chinese counterpart.

This is her second visit to China as prime minister. Her first came when she attended the G20 Summit in the eastern Chinese city of Hangzhou in September 2016.
