ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Asif Saeed Khosa on Thursday has taken notice of the suicide note written by Brig (R) Asad Munir and sought a detailed report from Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
Earlier on March 15, Brigadier (R) Asad Munir, Ex-Member State Capital Development Authority (CDA) had committed suicide in his house.
According to police, Asad Munir was found hanging from a ceiling fan in Diplomatic Enclave’s apartment.
Asad’s elder Khalid Munir confirmed the demise of his elder brother in a Twitter message.
He tweeted, “My elder brother Brig Asad Munir has passed away. Please pray for his maghfarat”.
Earlier on Thursday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) approved for filing corruption reference against the former Member State CDA and other officials.
The approval was one of many that took place in an Executive board meeting of the bureau chaired by NAB Chairman Justice (Retd.) Javed Iqbal.
A suicide letter had surfaced on social media which apparently was written by Ex-Member State Capital Development Authority (CDA), however, no authentication can be confirmed.
The note alleged officials of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) of being incompetent and urged Chief Justice to take notice of ‘incompetent people [NAB Officials] playing with honour of citizens’.
In the letter addressing Chief Justice Asif Khosa, he gave details about the allegations levelled against him and the way he was treated by the ‘incompetent, rude, untrained and arrogant NAB officials’.
