CJP Upbraids Pvt. Schools For Reducing Facilities After Fee Reduction

ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has grilled private schools today for lessening certain facilities to their students after the Supreme Court of Pakistan’s order regarding the reduction of the fee by 20%.

A three-member judges bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar heard a case related to increasing fee of private schools.

President of Private Schools Association, President of Supreme Court Bar Association and the Secretary of Law and Justice Commission were present at the Apex Court for the case hearing.

In the hearing, the Supreme Court redirected the Private Schools to reduce their fee by 20%. The orders were imposed on those schools who charge more than Rs. 5000.

During the hearing, CJP remarked that it is mournful how schools have reacted to the orders of the Supreme Court.

During the hearing, Supreme Court Bar Association’s President Aman Ullah told the court that schools have initiated an unusual behaviour with students after court’s orders. He added that school have withdrawn many provisions from kids too.

CJP was also informed that one school ended their Quran recitation classes and reduced one thousand rupees from their fee.

To this, Chief Justice got extremely angry. He said, “So this is the respect educated people have for the top court. I will see myself how schools will be shut down over fee issue.”

“We’ll hold such private institutions accountable for their unethical attitude. We’ll even hold trails against them if the need be”, said the angered Chief Justice.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar directed the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to issue a Forensic order to all such schools who are not complying to the court’s orders.

Later, Secretary Law and Justice Commission told the court that some schools are not ready to lessen their fee, although they are charging five thousand rupees.

Nonetheless, the court ordered FBR’s Audit member to do the inspection of such schools who are taking the hefty fee from their students and providing high salaries to their employees.
