LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday extended bail before the arrest of contract engineer Masroor Ahmed until March 21 in Saaf Pani (clean drinking water) case while the court ordered the NAB to submit reply on next hearing.
The divisional bench of the LHC heading by Justice Malik Shahzad Ahmed heard the bail before arrest petition of contract engineer of clean drinking Masroor Ahmed.
The Chairman and DG NAB were made respondent in the case.
The petitioner contended that contract engineer Masroor Ahmed is nominated in the clean drinking water case as he returned to the country from Canada to prove his innocence. The court had approved protective bail of the said accused for 48 hours.
The petitioner said that he did not commit any corruption but he was nominated in the case.
Masroor Said that the NAB has no evidence against him while he offered full cooperation to the NAB in its investigation into the case.
The petitioner insisted the court approve his bail before the arrest and the LHC extended his bail before the arrest until March 21.
The court also asked the NAB to reply over the matter in the next hearing.
