LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif announced to allocate special funds to provide 5,000 tractors in next financial year to facilitate local farmers.
CM Shahbaz Sharif inaugurated wheat harvesting in Malik Shah Muhammad Awan village located in the suburbs of Lahore. While addressing the ceremony, he said that it was expected for record production of wheat in current year.
He said that Punjab government has set up target of producing 40 lakh ton wheat while 376 centres were established for wheat purchases.
He said that Rs1300 per ton wheat would be purchased by local farmers and he would himself monitor the purchasing process to make it transparent.
CM Shahbaz said that farmers have also got benefits of major reduction in oil prices in international markets. He said that the government would provide 5,000-10,000 tractors with Rs2 lakh subsidy to local farmers.
