Coalition forces shoot down Houthi’s missile ahead of Trump visit

Riyadh (May 20, 2017): Saudi-led coalition forces intercepted and shot down a missile fired from Yemen by Houthi rebels, hours before the United States President Donald Trump will arrive in Saudi Arabia on Friday night.

The coalition forces said in a statement that they intercepted and destroyed a projectile some 200 kilometers away in the west of Riyahd above an unpopulated area called Al-Rin.

According to the details Iran-backed Houthi rebels launched a Burkan-1 missile toward Saudi capital Rikyadh. Whereas Yemeni army said that the missile strike conveyed a clear message that they were ready to respond to any aggression.
