RAWALPINDI: The Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the US House of Representatives called on the Chief of Army Staff and discussed in detail the security situation in Afghanistan of mutual interest.
According to ISPR, the meeting was also attended by Amrish Babulal Beira, Chairman, Sub-Committee on Asia-Pacific, Central Asia and Non-Proliferation.
The Army Chief said that Pakistan wants lasting peace in the region. Pakistan wants bilateral relations with all countries in the region.
The Army Chief said that the international community must focus on averting the humanitarian catastrophe in Afghanistan. International efforts are essential to avert the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan. Peace in Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan.
