COAS Visits NUST, Urges Youth To Strive For Excellence

Rawalpindi (September 13, 2018): Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday urged that the country’s youth must strive for excellence, said ISPR. 

During a visit to National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad, the army chief advised the younger generation to ‘always ask themselves what they can do for their country.’

COAS Bajwa appreciated the improvement in NUST’s standing at the international level ranking. He said that NUST is playing a pivotal role in producing a stream of scholars and engineers of the highest calibre, according to the military’s media wing. Furthermore, General Bajwa observed that NUST is a leading university in Pakistan, which would have a presence in all four provinces after the establishment of Quetta Campus.

On his arrival, the army chief was received by NUST Rector Lieutenant General (retired) Naweed Zaman.

Earlier on September 11, Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa reiterated that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is the economic future of Pakistan and its security shall never be compromised.CPEC is Economic Future of Pakistan, COAS Reiterates Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan called on the Army Chief and discussed matters of mutual interest and regional security.

The Ambassador appreciated conduct of successful visit of Chinese Foreign Minister and support for CPEC in Pakistan.

The Army Chief reiterated that CPEC is eco future of Pakistan and its security shall never be compromised. Earlier on September 08, the Chinese delegation led by Foreign Minister Mr Wang Yi met army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and discussed matters relating to regional security and bilateral cooperation.

The Chinese Foreign Minister said that Pakistan-China relationship is based on the convergence of views and mutual respect.

Appreciating professionalism of Pakistan Army, Foreign Minister said that world should acknowledge Pakistan’s efforts towards regional peace and stability.He appreciated security provided to CPEC and said that China believes in inclusive prosperity.

The army chief thanked the foreign minister for his visit and continued Chinese support to Pakistan.

He said that Pakistan has suffered from global contestation but “we are poised to claim our rightful place in comity of nations through the commitment to peace and stability both within and without.”Chinese Ambassador in Pakistan Mr Yao Jing was part of the delegation.
