LAHORE: Speaker Punjab Assembly, Pervez Elahi has formed a committee to keep an eye on the health and treatment-related matters of the former premier Nawaz Sharif.
According to details, Dr Yasmeen Rashid and provincial law minister Raja Basharat are part of the committee from the government side while Dr Mazhar, Rana Muhammad Iqbal and others are included in the committee from the PML-N.
The committee will make its recommendation on health and treatment matters of the former premier.
Talking on the occasion, the speaker said that politics should not be done on the former premier’s health and directed looking into the matter if doctors have to be called from abroad or not.
The speaker in his ruling said that every possible facility of treatment be provided to Nawaz Sharif as a debate in connection of Nawaz Sharif health and his treatment continued for the second day.
Member from opposition Dr Mazhar Abbass said that as many as four boards were formed to check the former premier health conditions and they suggested that Nawaz Sharif has a cardio related illness and his treatment not possible in Pakistan due to lack of state-of-art heart treatment facilities.
Provincial minister Raja Basharat said that “If Nawaz Sharif wanted to bring doctors from abroad then we can write to the federal government.” Provincial minister Dr Yasmin Rashid agreed upon to contact doctors via teleconference.
The Punjab assembly session adjourned until Friday 9 am while in absence of secretary finance a debate on pre-budget could not be started.
