SRINAGAR: Joint Resistance Leadership has called for a complete shutdown on Friday (today) to condemn India’s fiddling with the State Subject Law Article 35-A, ban on Jamaat-e-Islami and arrest of Muhammad Yasin Malik and other Hurriyat leaders under draconian Public Safety Act.
In a statement issued by JRL on Thursday, it was assured that peaceful protests would be held across the valley after Friday prayers. It strongly condemned the arbitrary arrest of the senior resistance leader, Muhammad Yasin Malik under draconian law Public Safety Act.
It is to be noted that the authorities booked Muhammad Yasin Malik, and Chief Spokesman for Jamaat-e-Islami, Advocate Zahid Ali, under black law, PSA, on Thursday.
Yasin Malik was shifted to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu and Advocate Zahid Ali to Central Jail, Srinagar. Another Jamaat leader, Mufti Mujahid Shabbir Falahi, was also slapped with PSA and shifted to Kot Bhalwal.
India’s National Investigation Agency arrested a Kashmiri youth, Amir Nazir Mir, in Awantipora area of Pulwama today.
