ISLAMABAD: Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB) justice (retd) Javed Iqbal has said that corruption is the root cause of all evils and its eradication is the voice of the whole nation.
Chairman of anti-graft body (NAB) justice (retd) Javed Iqbal in his statement said that the NAB has doubled its efforts to eradicate corruption from the society and bringing the looted amount back from corrupt elements to the national exchequer.
The NAB, as per implementation of the law, sent as many as 600 corruption references to the accountability courts without any discrimination.
As many as 1210 corruption references filed by the NAB are undertrial in accountability courts throughout the country involving Rs 900 billion.
Chairman NAB said that as per the Gallup and Gillani survey as many as 59 percents of people trust the NAB over its indiscriminative action against corruption.
Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal informed that a modern forensic science laboratory has been established in Rawalpindi in which analysis of digital forensic, questionable documents, fingerprints facility is available.
He said that the anti-corruption watchdog has fixed a maximu10-months period to file reference in the accountability court after scrutiny of the complaint, investigation, and inquiry to solve the case speedily.
Chairman NAB said that the institution has the faith in a corruption-free Pakistan and it believes that corruption can be eradicated from the society with the collective efforts of all walks of life.
