During the hearing, Imran Khan counsel Naeem Bukhari told the bench that they could not find the complete records of Niazi Services Limited, the offshore company owned by Imran Khan.Upon this, the chief justice remarked that any record which goes in favour of your client is found.

The Chief Justice also questioned as to where were the evidence that Tareen was holding 18 thousands acres land on lease.

Earlier, the SC was informed that Jahangir Tareen had been an agriculturist since 1978.As the hearing began, Tareen’s counsel, Sikandar Bashir Mohmand, informed the court he could not submit the lease record due to a shortage of time.  He informed the bench that 18,500 acres were acquired by his client in 2010 on lease. He said Tareen grows sugar, mangos, and cotton on his farms and then set up a sugar mill in 2002.

The chief justice remarked that the lease agreements were not verified and fail to mention where and how much the land in question is.“You need to satisfy us that the person from whom land was taken on lease was the owner of the land. We want to see the record of the revenue department first, as only that will tell the situation on the ground,” the chief justice observed.

Filing a miscellaneous civil application, Imran counsel Bukahir told the court that Imran had declared the amount used for architecture fees of Bani Gala estate in his nomination papers. The counsel added that Imran did not participate in 2008 election so he was only answerable to Federal Board of Revenue not the ECP.

The bench issued notice to the petitioner Hanif Abbasi on the CMA of Imran Khan.

Hearing of the case was adjourned till tomorrow.
