Country Can’t Be Run Without Taxes: Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister for Special Assistance on Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that country can’t be run without taxes while the government will not be blackmailed from anybody.

Addressing a presser along with Federal Minister for Planning and Development Khusro Bakhtiar, PMSA Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan clarified that the ministry of information has not closed any twitter account of any journalist.

The PMSA said that the important developments are occuring in the political situation of the country while the benificiaries of status-quo are creating the hurdles adding that there is no any issue in the talks with the business community a business minded political party conducted politics thnking it as a business.

Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said that the real traders are the partners of the government while she esured that the government will solve the problems of the business community.

She said that Shahid Khaqan Abbassi protected the personal business of the Sharif family that jolted the country’s economy while she said that ex-premier Shahid Khaqan left the premiership with injected a poison in the economy of the country while he did’nt have any mandate of his own while he conducted a 19 foriegn visits in his tenure from 2017 to 2018.

Talking at the occassion, Federal Minister for Planning and Development Khusro Bakhtiar said the government is initiating the second phase of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) while he said that a CPEC authority will be established for the project while existing structre of the project will also be changed.

He negated the impression that the CPEC has been stopped or closed adding that the government is following all the agreements on the CPEC while the Minister declared the project a platform to deal with the challenges faced by the country.

The Minister said that the government has decided to form a Pakistan-China business council while he said that the CPEC is a reflection of the Pakistan China historic relationship while the government is fully active to continue the prjoect.

He said that it is unfortunate that the progress on Gawadar could not be made in the last four years while he informed that the master plan of Gawadar city is in its last phase.

Khusro Bakhtiar said that the government is committed to complete all the projects under the CPEC while he said that the railway system in the country turned completely outdated.

The Minister for Planning and Development said that the government focus is on ML-one project while the railway system of the coutnry will be updated, he said.

Regrading the ML-one project, he informed that the project will be completed in the three phases while he decalred that private partnership is innevitable for the achievement of aims of the CPEC.

He said that for the formation of the CPEC authority the government will introduce a bill in the parliament.
