Country Witnessed Highest Inflation In First Six Month Of PTI Govt: Shahid Khaqan

MANSEHRA: Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader and former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said on Sunday that the country witnessed the highest inflation during the first six months of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

The former premier made these remarks while addressing a gathering in Mansehra on Sunday.

He said that the people of Pakistan have now lost hope in the incumbent government to lead the country towards the path of progress and development.

Abbasi remarked that the current government was not working for the betterment of the public and instead it halted all the projects which were launched by the PML-N government.

Regarding the accountability process, he said that the allegations levelled against Nawaz Sharif were baseless. He said that during his tenure as the prime minister neither he nor any minister was involved in corruption.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Sunday  campaigned even in snowbound parts of the constituency for securing maximum possible votes in PK-30 by-election which is scheduled to be held on February 26.

Meanwhile, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has formulated preparations for the polls and established 188 polling stations where more than 2,000 security personnel including officers of Pakistan Armed forces will be deployed to ensure effective security measures and transparent conduct of polling.

A total of five candidates are in the run for PK-30. Tough contest is expected between the candidates of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

35 polling stations of tehsil Balakot have been declared as sensitive.
