Court Approves Bail Plea Of Malik Riaz in Land Occupation Case

LAHORE: An anti-Corruption Court on Tuesday approved bail of Business tycoon Malik Riaz against surety bonds of Rs100,000 in a case pertaining to forgery of 47 kanalsĀ of land belonging to the Punjab Auqaf department.

Anti-Corruption Court Judge Bahadur Ali Khan conducted the proceedings of the case wherein Malik Riaz appeared before the court with his counsels. Advocate Mian Mushtaq Abbas also appeared before anti Corruption Court as Auqaf department’s legal advisor.

As the hearing went underway, Advocate Mustaq Abbas while giving remarks in front of Anti-Corruption Court Judge Bahadur Ali Khan maintained that the following land belongs to Auqaf department which was illegally occupied by Baharia town with the help of Auqat dept officials.

Malik Riaz’s counsel said that Baharia Town is not involved in any type of land forgery. However, a committee has been formed to resolve the matter.

The petitioner pleaded that Anti-corruption officials wanted to arrest Malik Riaz so the court should accept bail plea of his client.

Anti-Corruption Court Judge Bahadur Ali Khan announced the reserved verdict and granted bail plea of Malik Riaz against surety bonds of Rs100,000.

It must be noted that the Anti-Corruption Establishment Punjab had registered a case against Malik Riaz and others for illegally occupying 47 Kanals land of the Auqaf Department for developing Bahria Orchard Housing Scheme in the city.
