Court Extended Interim Bail Of Shaikh Rashid In Cases Related To Masjid-e-Nabwi Incident

Rawalpindi: Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench on Wednesday extended interim bail of Awami Muslim League Chief Shaikh Rasheed till June 6 in the registered cases against him for Masjid-e-Nabwi incidents.

Rawalpindi Bench Justice Amjad Rafique accepted pleas from behalf of Shaikh Rashid seeking extension in an interim bail after hearing the case while the court sought record of the both the cases on the next hearing.


Counsel of Shaikh Rashid, Sardar Abdul Razaq advocate contended that an FIR of any incident outside Pakistan can not be lodged in the country and such cases are false, baseless and political victimization and former minister has nothing to do with the cases.


The court has fixed May 25 to hear a plea filed by Shaikh Rashid quashing cases against him for contempt of religion in 11 cities of the country. The court also ordered not to harrass and arrest him.


Talking to media after appearing before the court, Shaikh Rashid said that after verdict of Supreme Court of Pakistan over presidential reference seeking interpretation of article 63(A), the coalition government is standing on a single vote.


Former interior minister said that the government is begging to the country institutions for one year rule. AML chief claimed that seting up the interim government decision will be taken until May 31.

He said that whenever tough time arises coalitions are broken. As per the Shaikh Rashid said that opening of court at 12 am night went in the favor of the opposition parties.


He said that we have special care for the courts and respect of army. Shaikh Rashid said that it is being prepared to end cases against Asif Zardari, Faryal Talpur, Hamza Shahbaz and Shahbaz Sharif through Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Those who demanded to restore respect of vote, set the price of single vote Rs 200 million.

He apprised that on May 20 in Multan public gathering, Imran Khan will give call of a long march and it will be better to announce dates of fresh elections.
