ISLAMABAD: An Accountability Court of Islamabad on Monday extended physical remand of Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) leader Faryal Talpur and former president Asif Ali Zardari by 10 days in Fake Accounts saga case.
Accountability Court Judge Mohammad Bashir took up the Mega Money Laundering and Fake Accounts case today, Monday.
On this occasion, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced both accused politician siblings before the court under tight security.
AC had previously extended physical remand of key accused and former president Asif Ali Zardari for 14 days.
Accountability Court No. I took up the case for the first time since Law Ministry was moved for removal of Accountability Judge Mohammad Arshad Malik.
At the outset of hearing, the Accountability watchdog’s prosecutor sought an extension in former president’s remand for the fourth time.
He said that the Anti-graft body did not any conclusive evidence during probe with the former president.
However, NAB’s plea did not face any sort of objection from the counsel of Asif Ali Zardari.
