LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday has issued notices to the government for not issuing production orders of the former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi over the Abbasi’s petition.
The hearing conducted by the judge of the LHC Ali Baqir Najafi on the plea of the Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in which he made the speaker NA, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) federal and provincial government as parties.
During the hearing, the counsel of the former premier Rana Mashhud Ahmed told the court that his client had submitted a request to NA speaker for issuance of production orders time and again but NA speaker had turned down his request without any solid grounds.
He told the court that in the past production orders of several parliamentarians had been issued but his client’s production orders have not issued that is the violation of article four of the constitution that deprived off his client to represent the voters of NA-124.
Later, the court issuing the notices has called the next hearing on November 14.
